If you find yourself in this region, you should absolutely visit the beaches of Elafonissi and Palaiochora. From Palaiochora there are boat departures to close beaches, as the one of Sougia. Near the beach of Elafonissi, lies a monastery that is called Chryssoskalitissa and hosts several nuns. It is worth mentioning that the view from the top of the convent is magnificent.
